Runs a white elephant gift swap: random order, opens and steals, frozen gifts and the final swap, tracked for you.

Players go in a random order. On your turn, open a wrapped gift or steal an opened one. If yours is stolen, you open or steal again. A gift stolen 3 times is frozen with its owner.
What is White Elephant Game?
White Elephant Game runs a white elephant gift exchange for you, also called a Yankee swap or a dirty Santa: enter the players, draw a random order, and on each turn the player opens a wrapped gift or steals one that is already open. It keeps track of whose turn it is, who was stolen from, how many times each gift has been stolen and which gifts are frozen, so nobody has to.
It works at an office party, a family Christmas or a video call: press Present to show the game full screen on a TV or a shared screen, and type what is in each gift as it is opened. At the end, download the list of who went home with what.
White elephant rules
- Everyone brings one wrapped gift, and a random order is drawn.
- On your turn, open a wrapped gift, or steal a gift someone has already opened.
- If your gift is stolen, you open a new gift or steal another one, right away.
- A gift stolen a set number of times (usually 3) is frozen and stays with its owner.
- You cannot steal back a gift that was just taken from you, and a gift can be stolen only once per turn.
- When everyone has a gift, the first player, who had nothing to steal, may swap with anyone.
Each rule can be switched on or off before you start, and the steal limit can be 1 to 4 steals, or none.
How to use White Elephant Game?
- Enter the players, one per line, and choose the rules.
- Press Draw the Order & Start.
- On each turn, press Open a Gift and type what is inside, or click an opened gift to steal it.
- At the end, download or copy who got what. Undo takes back any move.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between white elephant, Yankee swap and dirty Santa?
They are names for the same game, with small differences in the rules from group to group: how many steals freeze a gift, whether the first player gets a last swap. Set the rules your group plays by before you start.
Can we play white elephant online?
Yes. Share your screen on a video call and press Present: everyone sees whose turn it is and which gifts can still be stolen. Players open their own gifts on camera, and you type what is inside. For a gift exchange where everyone draws one name instead, use the Secret Santa Generator.
How many gifts does each person get?
One: there are as many gifts as players, and the game ends when every gift is open. A player can hold only one gift at a time, and whoever is stolen from goes again right away.
