What is Online Perler Bead Pattern Maker?

Perler Bead Pattern Maker turns a photo, a drawing or a sprite into a pattern you can bead. Every bead in the pattern is matched to a colour you can actually buy, from Perler, Hama Midi or Artkal S, so what you see on screen is what ends up on the pegboard. It counts how many beads of each colour you need, splits the design into pegboards, and prints it as a chart with a symbol in every bead.

    Real Bead Colours

Colours are matched the way the eye sees them (CIEDE2000), not by their numbers, so a skin tone does not turn into the wrong orange. Limit the pattern to the colours you own with "Max colours", leave out glitter, glow and clear beads unless you want them, and switch dithering on for smoother shading in photos.

    Fix It by Hand

No converter gets every bead right. Paint, fill and pick colours straight on the pattern, click a colour in the list to see every bead of it, and undo anything. The counts update as you go.

How to use Online Perler Bead Pattern Maker?

    1. Upload a picture, or drop or paste one. Simple pictures with clear shapes work best.
    2. Choose the bead brand and the width in beads; 29 fills one large square pegboard.
    3. Set the maximum number of colours, and touch up any stray beads by hand.
    4. Download the pattern as a PDF: the picture, the bead list and a chart for every pegboard.

    Frequently asked questions

How big will my bead art be?

Midi beads are 5 mm, so a 29 × 29 pattern is about 14.5 cm square once ironed. The size is shown under the pattern as you change the width.

How many beads should I buy?

The colour list gives the exact count for each colour and how many bags of 1,000 that is, with a few spare for the beads that roll under the sofa.

Does it work with Hama and Artkal beads?

Yes. Pick Hama Midi or Artkal S (5 mm) under "Colours" and the pattern is matched to that brand's colours and codes instead. Perler, Hama and Artkal are trademarks of their owners, who are not connected with this tool.

Can I use it for other crafts?

For embroidery, the Cross Stitch Pattern Maker uses DMC thread colours; for bricks, the LEGO Mosaic Maker; and for crochet or game art, the Pixel Art Converter.
