What is Online Visited Countries Map?
Visited Countries Map is a world map you colour in: click every country you have been to, or find it in the list, and see at once how many countries you have visited, what share of the world’s 195 that is and how many of the six continents you have set foot on.
When the map looks right, give it a title, pick a colour and a light or dark background and download it as a poster with the flags of the places you have been, to share or print. Small countries such as Singapore, Malta or Monaco are shown as dots, so no trip goes missing.

What You Can Do
- Click to add or remove a country on the map, or search for it by name.
- Your numbers: countries visited, the share of the world and the continents you have been to.
- By continent: how many of the countries of Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania you have seen.
- A true-to-size map in the Equal Earth projection, so Africa and South America are not shrunk next to a giant Greenland.
- Poster: your title, your colour, a light or dark background and your flags, as a large PNG.
- Saved in your browser, so your map is waiting when you come back after the next trip.

Frequently asked questions
How many countries are there in the world?
195: the 193 members of the United Nations and its two observer states, the Vatican and Palestine. The share of the world counts these 195. Territories such as Greenland, Puerto Rico or Hong Kong, and Kosovo and Taiwan, can still be marked on the map and are listed with the rest, but are not part of the 195.
What counts as visiting a country?
That is up to you. Many travellers count a country once they have left the airport and spent a night there, and not a layover; others count any time their feet touched the ground.
Which continent is Turkey, Russia or Cyprus in?
The map follows the United Nations’ grouping, with a few common choices: Russia is in Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus in Asia and Cyprus in Europe. Central America and the Caribbean count as North America.
Can I find my countries automatically?
If you use Google Maps Timeline, export it and open it in the Google Maps Timeline Visualizer: it finds the countries you have been to, with the date of your first visit, and draws them on this same map.
