A live draping test with your camera: find your color season, your palette and makeup, and check your clothes against it.

Find your color season with a live draping session

Like a session with a colour analyst: coloured drapes appear under your face, two at a time, and you choose the one you look better in. Four questions, about two minutes, then your palette, your best neutrals and makeup, and a mirror to try them on.

  • Daylight from a window, facing it. No yellow lamps.
  • A bare face, or little makeup, and hair off the face.
  • Private: the camera stays in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

What is Seasonal Color Analysis?

Seasonal Color Analysis finds the colours that make you look your best, the way a colour analyst does it: by draping. Coloured drapes appear under your face on your camera, two at a time, side by side, and you choose the one you look better in. Four questions later you know your season out of the 12, from Light Spring to Deep Winter.

Then you get your palette, your best neutrals, lip and blush shades, metals and the colours to avoid, with a live mirror that puts each colour under your face. Point the camera at a piece of clothing and it tells you whether it is one of your colours. Everything runs in your browser: the camera is never recorded or uploaded.

What You Can Do

  • Live draping: warm or cool, light or deep, bright or soft, then your season, with drapes on your own face, side by side.
  • A camera reading of your skin and hair as a hint at each step, and a light check so the colours are judged fairly.
  • All 12 seasons, each with 16 colours, 6 neutrals, lip and blush shades, metals and colours to avoid.
  • Try-on mirror: tap any colour to see it under your face, or play the whole palette.
  • Wardrobe check: hold a piece of clothing up to the camera and see if it suits your season.
  • Season card: your season, your photo in your best colour and your palette, to share as a story.
  • No camera? Use a photo; or explore any season if you already know yours.

How to use Seasonal Color Analysis?

  1. Sit facing a window in daylight, with little or no makeup and your hair off your face.
  2. Start your camera and line your face up in the oval.
  3. For each pair of drapes, choose the one that makes your skin look even and your eyes clear.
  4. Explore your palette, try the colours on, and save your season card.

Frequently asked questions

What is seasonal color analysis?

It sorts people's natural colouring, of skin, hair and eyes, into seasons: Spring and Autumn are warm, Summer and Winter cool; Spring and Winter are clear and bright, Summer and Autumn soft. Each splits into three, for 12 seasons, depending on what is strongest in you: lightness, depth, warmth, coolness, brightness or softness.

How do I know which drape looks better?

Look at your face, not the colour. In the right drape your skin looks smooth and even, the shadows under your eyes soften and your eyes look brighter. The wrong one shows redness, makes you look tired, grey or yellow, or draws the eye to the colour instead of to you. Go with your first impression; if you really cannot tell, skip.

Is the result accurate?

Draping is the method analysts use, and doing it on your own face gives a better answer than a quiz or a single photo. A screen and a camera are not perfect, though: daylight, a bare face and an honest eye make the biggest difference. If two seasons seem close, try both palettes in the mirror and keep the one you look best in.

Does it work with hair dye or a tan?

Your season comes from your natural colouring, so test with the hair and skin you usually have, and cover strongly dyed hair with a white towel if you can. A tan can make you look warmer for a while.
