What is Online HEX to RGBA Converter?

Why convert HEX to RGBA at all?

Transparency. A plain HEX value has no alpha channel, so the moment you need a colour at 40% opacity you need it as RGBA — overlays, scrims and shadows all live there.

What does the A in RGBA stand for?

Alpha, from 0 for fully transparent to 1 for fully opaque. It controls the colour's own transparency, unlike the CSS opacity property, which fades the whole element including anything inside it.

What about the eight-digit HEX form?

Modern browsers accept #RRGGBBAA, where the last two digits are the alpha. It is more compact than RGBA, though harder to read at a glance — 80 is roughly half opacity, which is not obvious until you know it.

Does converting change the colour?

No. HEX and RGB describe the same values in different notation; #FF5733 and rgb(255, 87, 51) are identical. Only the alpha is genuinely new information.
